Gah I can’t believe it, I’m a day late on this one but Happy belated birthday wishes from Stolengolem EVE! EVE is the MMO of choice round in the Golembunker and I’m happy to say that I’m one of the people who helped them break the 300,000 active subscribers mark this week too. According to the official website it’s been a very good year indeed for CCP Games as they’ve had 22% growth in subscribers in the last 5 months thanks in my opinion to better visibility on ads, greatly improved gameplay in the recent Apocrypha expansion and not forgetting the “let’s all stay at home” factor the recession is having on social lives across the world (though this last one is just speculation on my part, can a recession have proper metrics applied to it?). I wish EVE all the best for the coming years and know they deserve it, with up to 53,850 players in the same universe playing together at once in an entirely player driven sandbox there is no game like it that I’ve played so far, only the X trilogy comes close but that’s a strictly solo affair.
