The new music video from Dancing Pigeons for “Ritalin” is another excellent ecample of what the Phantom was designed to do… take stunning, HD, ultra slow motion footage.

Reminiscent of the Vitalic video “Poney – Part 1″ from 2006 and recently copied for a dog food advert by “Pedigree” we love this video. How can you go wrong with 1000fps? Oh and for those of you that missed it first time round… Here’s the Vitalic Music video. Woof!

Sure for many of us making our own glowsticks is going to be expensive and impractical in our tiny (shedless) appartments but hey; what does that beginner’s guide to electronics and chemistry sitting on our shelves say about us if not… “here lives a dreamer. One day he will own a shed.”

Another Thursday flashback – The Ultimate Showdown

In 2006 epic flash video “The Ultimate Showdown” was released into the Newgrounds flash portal where it became an instant hit and remains as true and awesomely relevant today as it ever was. Sadly you can’t embed from Newgrounds so we’ve had to link to a YouTube rip but if you want to watch the high quality original – click here!

The original music is by Lemon Demon who have done a whole range of great songs accompanied by great videos so do check them out. Double Llama glory for a Thursday morning

I saw this excellent graphic by gotbob and thought it was awesome (president Obama Llama rocks my sox).

Naturally afterwards I was immediately transported back to 2004 and started singing the Llama song (a truly infectious viral that’s alive and kicking over 6 years later) so I thought I’d share the joy that is. Warning - don’t click if you don’t like Llamas! (actually you should have avoided this entire post really).

Illusion of the year winner – 2010

The winner of the Best Visual Illusion of the Year Contest 2010 has been announced and the award is well deserved. Koukichi Sugihara’s illusion “Impossible motion: magnet-like slopes” (at least we think that’s the name) was one of the few entries to be actually modelled in the real wold (not on a computer) and is a very deserving winner in our books.

We highly recommend too that youcheck out the 2nd and 3rd place runners up too – and if you’ve got loads of time, there are archives for the last 6 years of competition there too!
