Ok so there was no way I couldn’t post about this today, not only because twitter appears to be unable to think of anything else to scream its head off about right now. I’ve got to say right from the start that I am very impressed on first glance. Finally an e-reader that appears to have everything we’ve been asking for! Not only does it have a large (9.7 inch) portrait/landscape auto-rotating screen but it also has, and this is the best bit, native PDF support so you can stick your own ebooks on it! No early tests yet on the length of the “long” battery life so that might be a problem if you like reading in the dark but they claim you can “Read for days without recharging” so that sounds promising. Oh I also like the larger 4GB storage (twice the size of the smaller model) but would really have to work pretty hard to fill it all.

Once the price comes down from it’s current $489 level I really will be running to get one, probably more so than a netbook of my very own.
